This outfit feels very 'nineties to me... kind of grungy, I guess.

(dress: diy; chambray: walmart; hat/belt: thrifted; boots: seychelles)

I've been feeling really lethargic and uninspired lately. I think I watched too much TV this weekend and it damaged me... but I didn't even watch that much! I don't know, I'm starting to feel guilty again for reading or watching movies, since I feel like there are better ways I could be spending my time (par example, I could be sewing little dresses like this one). I'm also really struggling to drag my bag of bones out of bed in the morning. I think something is really off. Yesterday I kept forgetting to breathe.

Anyway, I hope you like my flock of seagulls dress. Hopefully I'll be able to drag myself out of my doldrums in the next couple of days and return to my usually cheery self. A trip to the gym tonight is definitely in order... my endorphins are getting lazy!

  1. This is so lovely! The dress is wonderful!
Forgetting to breathe is quite bad but I feel similar at the moment..its like one day is like the next and I keep forgetting what day we have, or week, or year. Very strange!

  3. Sorry you're in the doldrums, lady; it happens to the best of us. It seems to be harder on creative types though, we gotta be always creatin'! No worries though, you'll get your groove back. ;)

  7. the fabric on that dress is darling, no wonder you snatched it up and sewed a pretty little dress. I know that guilty feeling all too well...i spent the weekend watching (almost) all of freaks and geeks.... quite fitting for your post! I secretly love being a lazy bum.

  8. The print on this dress is so cute, I love the colour of it too. Such a 90s look in the best way with the denim top and cute boots. The picture of your hat in a tree made me smile!

  11. The boots with the shirt definitely have a modern '90s vibe... I totally rocked a hat like that in 1993 too (but with a huge sunflower attached - Blossom style)! I am a guilt-a-holic, I feel totally guilty whenever I am not giving 110% all the time, and I know it's insane and I get to be lazy and watch TV sometimes too, but I just feel like I ought to be drawing or sewing or doing something productive. If you find the solution to the guilt problem, let me know!

  12. I'm always super grumpy if I feel I've been wasting time--and that includes just sleeping in. Hope you get your groove back and sew more pretty dresses!

  13. Totally loving the print on your dress and the 1990s vibe. I am a child of the 1990s so I always love a little grunge inspiration. And I also love how the dress is called a "flock of seagulls." sweet. xx

  15. I totally feel the same way after watching too much TV. It's pretty disorienting.

You look fabulous! I love the little peek of slip/skirt/dress peeking out under the red dress. And I'm obsessed with those boots.

  16. Maybe it's a problem with the alignment of the stars! I was having mini panic attacks and blacking out all day, so... it's not just you! I love your outfit! I'm really big on the whole 90s grunge scene- music, clothes, culture...
